Grief and Loss

The experience of grief and loss is different for everyone.  We don't necessarily know how we will feel until the time that someone or something we care deeply about is lost. We might find it difficult to understand the emotions, the ups and downs, and sometimes it might feel like life will never get back to 'normal'.

What is important to understand, is that there is no right or wrong way to feel, act or behave, but there are healthy ways to deal with grief and loss and support mechanisms that will help you cope with the pain. There is a huge range of events that may cause you to feel grief and loss, including

  • Divorce or relationship breakup
  • Major health challenges
  • Change in employment or financial security
  • Miscarriage or infant loss
  • Death of a loved one
  • A loved one's serious illness
  • Loss of safety due to trauma

There is no normal timetable for grieving, but if you feel like you need some help in coming to terms with your loss, we can help.
